• 2 p.m. — Brandon General Museum and Archives’ Show and Tell presentation: Remembering the Prince Edward Hotel with Tony Griffin. • Noon — Join the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba, the John Howard Society and Manitoba Corrections for a lunch and learn event on the topic of restorative justice in the context of the exhibition “Healing for the Broken Hearted,” which features new art and comments by incarcerated Manitobans. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected along the parade route to support Christmas Cheer.

• Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (CATPM) (Brandon Municipal Airport, Highway 10, 1.6 kilometres north of Brandon) — Canada’s only air museum solely dedicated to the preservation of those who trained and fought for the British Commonwealth during the Second World War. The museum is now closed and will reopen again on April 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. Our gallery has new interpretive displays explaining the Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Visitors will be invited to travel back to the 1940s while touring a Second World War-vintage hangar serving as a display for aircraft, vehicles and hundreds of artifacts from that era. RCAF members who lost their lives during the Second World War are honoured on the museum’s RCAF Second World War Memorial Wall. • Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 — Christmas Cheer’s annual Fill the Bus Campaign will be held at Sobeys West on Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as Dec. 6 at the Safeway location from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Non-perishable food and toy donations received in support of the Christmas Cheer Registry.
• Nov. 30 — The 30th annual Santa Brunch will take place at the Oak Lake Community Hall. Food will be served from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults; children 6 to 11 years, $5. There will be shopping for children under 12; a silent auction; children’s games and a visit and photos with Santa.
• Nov. 30 — Westman Jams annual Christmas Show will take place at The Fringe Restaurant and Lounge (Cove Road, CFB Shilo, entrance via North Gate) from 2 to 5 p.m. Come enjoy live music, bake sale, 50/50 and door prize. A valid ID is required for entry to CFB Shilo.
• Dec. 1 — Under the direction of Edward Bach, the Brandon University Brass Ensemble will be performing a Christmas Concert at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. No admission fee. All are welcome!
• Dec. 3 — The Brandon University Choir and the Brandon University Chorale conclude their fall term with a choral concert of great variety at Knox United Church (451 18th St.) at 7:30 p.m. Music by J.S. Bach, Indonesian composer Ken Steven, Elaine Hagenberg, Jussi Chydenius, Arvo Part. Rachmaninoff, and Canadian composers Andrew Balfour, Sherryl Sewepagaham, Katerina Gimon and Emile Deedes-Vinck. The ensembles will perform separate repertoire and also combine vocal forces in a couple of selections. The concert will also feature a guest performance by a BU Lower Voices Ensemble: Invicta. • Dec. 4 — The Expressions Concert Series presents “Red Moon Road: A Simple Kind of Christmas,” at the Minnedosa Community Conference Centre. Featuring three-part harmonies from some of Manitoba’s finest musicians, lovingly arranged musical offerings woven masterfully together with stories sprinkled with family-friendly repartee.
