BRANDON UNIVERSITY
• A new academic year has arrived, with Orientation taking place today, beginning with check-ins for new students from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Healthy Living Centre. Other activities will include information sessions for students, parents and other supporters, campus tours and entertainment. Classes begin on Wednesday.
• The Bee U bees will be the backdrop for a presentation on Select Scandals in Manitoba Beekeeping, taking place on Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., on the McMaster Hall concourse. The presentation will share discoveries made during research into 163 years of Manitoba beekeeping, including an unexpected connection to Louis Riel.
• Homecoming will take place from Friday through Sunday, with events including the BU Research Showcase, the season openers for the Bobcats soccer teams, campus tours, astronomical viewing, board games and the banquet and awards dinner. Homecoming will conclude with the farewell brunch and a Sunday evening student music recital. More information and a full schedule are available at BrandonU.ca/Homecoming.
• The Fall 2026 pro series concert schedule begins on Sept. 15 with a performance featuring the School of Music faculty. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., and tickets will be available at the door for $20.
