MEDICINE HAT – Cruz Pavao’s power-play goal at 2:07 of overtime lifted the visiting Tri-City Americans to a 4-3 Western Hockey League victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday at Co-op Place.

Gavin Garland, Charlie Elick and Connor Dale also scored for the Americans (6-7-1-0). Jake Gudelj, Carter Savage and Elick each chipped in with two assists.

Jonas Woo scored twice and added an assist for the Tigers (10-5-2-0), who outshot the visitors 26-24. Markus Ruck also scored for the hosts.

The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, and the Americans took a 2-1 lead into the third.

The Tigers went 2-for-2 on the power play, while the Americans were 1-for-2.

ROYALS 4 VEES 3 (SO)

VICTORIA — Roan Woodward and Ludovic Perreault both scored in the shootout to give the Victoria Royals a 4-3 win over the visiting Penticton Vees.

Hayden Moore, Ashton Brown and Woodward scored in regulation for the Royals (8-4-2-1), who were outshot 35-23.

Ryden Evers, Ethan Weber and Diego Johnson scored for the Vees (8-5-1-2), who led 1-0 after the first period but trailed 3-1 heading into the third.

The Vees went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Royals were 0-for-4.

Netminder Jake Pilon stopped 32 of 35 shots for the Royals. Jesse Sanche stopped 19 of 22 shots for the Vees.

HITMEN 3 WHEAT KINGS 1

BRANDON, Man. — Kale Dach and Brandon Gorzynski each had a goal and assist as the visiting Calgary Hitmen knocked off the Brandon Wheat Kings 3-1.

Kaden Meyer also scored for the Hitmen (10-3-1-0), who outshot the hosts 40-20. Calgary led 1-0 after the first period and took a 2-0 lead into the third.

Gunnar Gleasman scored for the Wheat Kings (6-7-1-0).

Netminder Jayden Kraus stopped 37 of 40 shots for the Wheat Kings, while Eric Tu stopped 19 of 20 shots for the Hitmen.

OIL KINGS 8 BRONCOS 4

EDMONTON, Alta. — Max Curran had two goals and three assists, Blake Fiddler had three assists, and the Edmonton Oil Kings beat the visiting Swift Current Broncos 8-4.

Dylan Dean, Landon Hanson, Josh Lee, Adam Jecho, Miroslav Holinka and Lukas Sawchyn also scored for the Oil Kings (12-4-1-1), who trailed 4-2 after the first period but were tied 4-4 heading into the third.

Noah Kosick, Hudson Darby, Sawyer Dingman and Zach Pantelakis scored for the Broncos (6-7-1-0), who were outshot 45-22.

The Oil Kings went 2-for-7 on the power play, while the Broncos were 1-for-4.

GIANTS 2 COUGARS 1

LANGLEY, B.C. — Cameron Schmidt’s goal at 14:20 of the third period snapped a 1-1 deadlock and lifted the Vancouver Giants to a 2-1 win over the visiting Prince George Cougars at Langley Events Centre.

Adam Titlbach also scored for the Giants (8-8-0-1), who outshot the visitors 23-20.

Jett Lajoie scored for the Cougars (9-6-0-0), who trailed 1-0 after the first period. The second period was scoreless.

The Cougars went 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Giants were 0-for-1.

Giants netminder Burke Hood stopped 19 of 20 shots, while Joshua Ravensbergen stopped 20 of 22 for the Cougars.

BLAZERS 6 WILD 2

WENATCHEE, Wash. — Nathan Behm had two goals and an assist, Kayd Ruedig had two assists, and the visiting Kamloops Blazers beat the Wenatchee Wild 6-2.

JP Hurlbert, Ryan Michael, Tommy Lafreniere and Jordan Keller also scored for the Blazers (7-7-1-2), who outshot the hosts 41-33.

Zane Saab and Rui Han scored for the Wild (3-8-1-1), who trailed 2-0 after the first period and 4-1 heading into the third.

The Blazers went 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Wild were 0-for-4.
