CALGARY – Former CFL linebacker Jacob Roberts has reached a multi-year agreement with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings.

According to a CFL source, the deal covers three years. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity as the Vikings haven’t announced the move.

The six-foot-one, 233-pound Roberts had earlier worked out with the Vikings following the 2025 CFL season.

Roberts, 24, of Charlotte, N.C., registered a team-high 93 tackles last season with the Calgary Stampeders. He also recorded nine special-teams tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble in 18 regular-season contests.

Roberts joined the Stampeders during the ’24 campaign, recording four tackles, and 10 special-teams tackles in six games. Roberts was slated to become a CFL free agent next month.

He came to the CFL after completing his college career in 2023 at Wake Forest, registering 83 tackles (10 for loss) and two forced fumbles in 12 games. He began his collegiate tenure at North Carolina A & T (2019-2022).

Roberts wasn’t selected in the ’24 NFL draft.
