MILAN – Day 1 at the Milan Cortina Olympics features Canada’s women’s hockey team scheduled to open its gold-medal defence against Switzerland, after its original opener against Finland was postponed.

But in concerning news, Switzerland’s team was isolating in Milan on Friday after one player was diagnosed with norovirus, the same stomach illness that forced the Finland postponement.
