OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators have signed defenceman Gabriel Eliasson on a three-year, entry-level contract starting next season, the NHL club announced Wednesday.
The 19-year-old from Kungsbacka, Sweden, had two goals, six assists and a league-leading 122 penalty minutes in 61 regular-season games in 2025-26 with the Ontario Hockey League’s Barrie Colts.
He will play in his second straight OHL post-season when the Colts begin a first-round series with the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday.
The six-foot-seven, 213-pound defender was selected by the Senators in the second round, 39th overall, of the 2024 NHL draft.
He represented the Senators at the 2024 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, N.Y.
The Senators entered Wednesday holding down the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference and will return to action Thursday against the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
