Canada is the third-ranked team in the CONCACAF region covering North and Central America and the Caribbean, behind its World Cup cohosts. Mexico rose one spot to 15th, swapping places with the United States.

France moved back atop the rankings for the first time since September 2018. Spain dropped to No. 2 while Argentina, which beat France in the 2022 World Cup final, dropped to No. 3.

England remained at No. 4, while fifth-ranked Portugal and sixth-ranked Brazil swapped places.

Of the teams in Canada’s group at the World Cup, Switzerland fell one spot to No. 19, Qatar rose one place to No. 55 and Bosnia and Herzegovina, fresh off a shocking win over No. 12 Italy in a World Cup qualifying final on Tuesday, moved up six places to No. 65.

Vietnam made the biggest jump, up nine spots to No. 99, while Malaysia dropped the furthest, 17 spots to No. 138.
