MONTREAL – Canada Soccer announced Wednesday that San Diego Wave FC defender Brooklyn Courtnall has been added to the women’s national team roster ahead of upcoming matches against Denmark.
The 23-year-old from Los Angeles made her senior team debut at the She Believes Cup, when she came on as a substitute for Vanessa Gilles in a 4-1 win over Colombia on March 1.
She made her first start later in the tournament, playing 90 minutes in a win on penalty kicks over Argentina on March 7.
Courtnall has made 21 career National Women’s Soccer League appearances over the last two years with North Carolina, Bay FC and San Diego.
Canada is training in Montreal, where Courtnall’s father, Russ Courtnall, scored 82 goals over four seasons with the Canadiens.
Canada faces Denmark on Friday at Montreal’s Stade Saputo and Monday at BMO Field in Toronto.
