VANCOUVER – Major League Soccer’s condensed 2027 season will feature just one all-Canadian matchup.
The league unveiled the full schedule for its so-called “sprint season” on Thursday, including the lone Canadian clash with Toronto FC hosting CF Montreal on Feb. 27.
MLS is playing an abbreviated season from February through May before switching in July to the summer-to-spring calendar used by many of the world’s top leagues.
Each of the 30 MLS teams will play a 14-game schedule against its conference opponents, with the top eight in each conference advancing to a single-elimination playoff bracket.
The campaign kicks off on Feb. 19 with FC Cincinnati visiting Inter Miami, and the final day of regular-season play will take place on May 8. The MLS Cup final is scheduled for the last weekend of May.
Toronto will begin the sprint season on the road against Atlanta United on Feb. 20, while the Vancouver Whitecaps will host the Colorado Rapids the same day. Montreal opens on the road against Charlotte FC on Feb. 21.
All three Canadian teams will wrap the regular season on May 8, with Montreal home to Cincinnati, Toronto hosting Miami and Vancouver visiting the San Jose Earthquakes.
