ROTTERDAM –
Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime is off to the semifinals of the ABN AMRO Open men’s tennis tournament.

The second-seeded Auger-Aliassime advanced with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 win over Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands on Friday. After winning the first-set tiebreaker, Auger-Aliassime, of Montreal, opened the second with the first of two breaks he recorded in the match.

The Canadian had a 59 per cent first-serve percentage _ Griekspoor was at 68 per cent _ but Auger Aliassime was stellar 31-of-34 on first-serve points won (Griekspoor was 32-of-47) and had more winners (25-12) and fewer unforced errors (17) than his opponent (24).

With the win, Auger-Aliassime took a 2-1 advantage in head-to-head matches with Griekspoor while winning their first-ever indoor meeting.

Auger-Aliassime finished the match with nine aces and three double-faults. He also converted two-of-five break opportunities.

Auger-Aliassime is on a nice roll. On Sunday, he defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-6 (4) to repeat as Open Occitanie champion in Montpellier. It was the ninth-career ATP title for the 25-year-old Canadian and first of 2026.

With that victory, Auger-Aliassime passed Milos Raonic (eight) for the most tour-level titles by a Canadian in the Open Era.
