TORONTO – The Toronto Tempo will pick sixth in the upcoming WNBA draft as they prepare for their inaugural season.
The Tempo won a coin toss Friday over their expansion cousins, the Portland Fire, and elected to select one spot ahead of the Fire in the draft scheduled for April 13.
As a result, the Fire will pick first in the April 3 expansion draft.
Toronto will also pick 22nd and 36th in the entry draft.
The coin toss outcome also grants Toronto first position on the waiver wire.
The Tempo open their debut season May 8 against visiting Washington.
