OTTAWA – Women’s quarterback Sara Parker and men’s rusher/cornerback Marc-Antoine Dequoy highlight Canada’s flag football rosters for the upcoming world championships in Germany.
Football Canada on Thursday announced the rosters for the championships, which are scheduled for Aug. 13-16 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Parker, who helped Canada to bronze at the 2025 World Games in China, won a battle with Elisabeth Ashkar for the women’s quarterback job.
Dequoy joins the flag team after a successful CFL career as a safety with the Montreal Alouettes that included two league all-star nominations and a Grey Cup title in 2023.
The world championships are the first chance to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, where flag football will make its Olympic debut.
The top two teams outside the United States in each competition qualify. Other spots will be decided at the 2027 IFAF continental championship and then the Olympic qualifier series in 2028.
