It was the perfect day for Brandon’s first every Summer Lights Music Festival on Sept. 10. The festival is an extension of the city’s Summer Lights concert series which featured a once-a-month free concert.
From noon to midnight, the Keystone Centre grounds were transformed into a showcase for local indie music.
The exciting lineup included Said the Whale, Joel Plasket, Terra Lightfoot, Attica Riots, Crooked Brothers, Sol James, Begonia, Slow Leaves, Mitchell Mozdzen, Mitchell Schimnowski, Okay Mann, The 204, Katie MacDonald and Hannah Selyn.
Music lovers filled the Keystone grounds to enjoy an amazing day and all for the low cost of $20 for general admission and $15 for students and minors.
Also offered was free camping, free pancake breakfast for all campers, volunteers, and artists, and free campground activities, all programmed by the Summer Lights committee.
Though Brandon has an annual folk festival, festival director Dylan MacDonald said that the Summer Lights festival still explores uncharted territory in the city. Keep in touch for more details at summerlightsmusicfestival.com.
