Enrique Jaimes Leclair was on the receiving end of Gonzalez’s touchdown, while Gregory Mulenda-St-Pierre scored the other rushing touchdown for the RSEQ champions.

The Carabins jumped out to a 22-2 halftime lead before continuing their dominance in the second half.

Their eight points in the opening frame was the only quarter Montreal scored less than 13 points in.

The Huskies defeated Queen’s Gaels 22-11 in Saturday’s Mitchell Bowl on a chilly afternoon in Saskatoon, Sask.

The Huskies led 7-1 after the first quarter and 14-1 at the half.

Huskies quarterback Jake Farrell completed 13 of 24 passes for 149 yards and one touchdown. Ryker Frank rushed for 131 yards on 22 carries and receiver Daniel Wiebe had three receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Gaels quarterback Alex Vreeken three for 388 yards and one touchdown, rusher Jared Chisari had eight carries for 70 yards, and receiver Cedric Smith had six catches for 78 yards and one touchdown.

The Gaels had more yardage on offence (440 to 287) and had more first downs (25 to 15), but couldn’t generate points in the red zone. The Huskies feasted on big plays, including an 85-yard punt return by Daniel Kubongo for a TD, a 41-yard touchdown strike from Farrell to Wiebe, and timely sacks.
