OTTAWA – Audrey Leduc won her third straight national title in the women’s 200 metres with a championship record time at the Canadian track and field championships on Sunday.
Leduc ran 22.38 seconds to handily win the race ahead of Marie-Éloïse Leclair (22.87) and Alyssa Marsh (22.95).
On the men’s side, Aaron Brown took home the title with a time of 20.33 seconds.
The Toronto native, who earned his sixth 200-metre Canadian title on Sunday, finished ahead of Eliezer Adjibi (20.37) and Brendon Rodney (20.60).
In the men’s 1,500, Marco Arop fell just short of winning his first national title outside of the 800 with a time of 3:38.28. Foster Malleck (3:37.68) instead won his first Canadian title.
Arop, a two-time world champion and Olympic silver medallist, had won four straight national titles in the 800 before opting to go for the 1,500 at this year’s event.
