LONDON – Third-seeded Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime will open against Alexander Shevchenko of Kazakhstan in the first round at Wimbledon after the draw was released Friday.

The Montreal native is ranked fourth in the world and is coming off a quarterfinal appearance at the ATP 500 grass-court event in Halle, Germany, where he lost to eventual champion Frances Tiafoe.

Denis Shapovalov, of Richmond Hill, Ont., will face Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta, while Gabriel Diallo, of Montreal, takes on France’s Benjamin Bonzi.

On the women’s side, 22nd-seeded Leylah Fernandez, of Laval, Que., opens against Indonesia’s Julia Tjen, while qualifier Bianca Andreescu, of Mississauga, Ont., faces China’s Shuai Zhang.

In women’s doubles, the second-seeded duo of Gabriela Dabrowski, of Ottawa, and Brazil’s Luisa Stefani will meet Poland’s Alicja Rosolska and Chile’s Alexa Guarachi in the opening round, while Fernandez and Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva will face Anna Danilina of Kazakhstan and Serbia’s Aleksandra Krunic.

The tournament begins Monday at the All England Club.
