OSAKA – Mason Flesch had two tries as Canada’s men’s rugby team fell to ninth-ranked Fiji 45-29 on Saturday in the semifinal of the Pacific Nations Cup.

Sion Parry and Kyle Tremblay also had tries for Canada.

Takoda McMullin was reliable from the tee for the Canadians, kicking four from five attempts, including three conversions and a long-range penalty.

Fiji will face Japan in the event’s final next week.

Canada will turn its attention to the Pacific Nations Cup third place playoff, also taking place Sept. 19 in Tokyo, where it will face the United States.

The last time Canada faced the United States was in August 2025 when the Canadians edged the Americans 34-20 in front of 11,587 fans at Calgary’s McMahon Stadium.
