COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — John Wroblewski is set to coach the U.S. women’s hockey team at another Olympics and several more world championships after agreeing to a contract extension.
USA Hockey announced Friday that Wroblewski is being extended through the 2030 Winter Games in the French Alps.
Wroblewski has been behind the bench for the national team since 2022 and coached the U.S. to gold at the Milan Cortina Olympics in February. His next tournament is worlds coming up in November in Denmark.
“John has done a terrific job over the last four years, and there’s no question our program has benefitted from his experience, leadership and passion,” USA Hockey women’s national team senior director Katie Million said in a statement. “We’re excited he’ll be with us for the next quad and look forward to building on the momentum that was established by winning gold in Milan.”
Wroblewski, a Neenah, Wisconsin native, previously coached on the men’s side at the USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program from 2016-20 and the American Hockey League’s Ontario Reign from ’20-22.
